(18 years of age and older)
Louisiana State Law requires any individual 18 years of age or older that has never held a driver's license to complete and pass a 14-hour pre-licensing course. The course consists of 6 hours of classroom instruction, OMV knowledge test, and 8 hours of Behind the Wheel (BTW) instruction.
The one-day classroom instruction is held from 8am to 2:30pm and OMV knowledge test is administered after completion of classroom instruction (we usually recommend for the students to plan to be there until 4pm).
*Students must obtain their T.I.P. (temporary instruction permit) from the Office of Motor Vehicles prior to being administered the OMV knowledge test and the 8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.
